FROM THE BIG APPLE TO THE BIG EASY DVD (08/18/2006)
On August 22, 2006, Rhino Etertainment, in association with MSG Entertainment (MSGE), will release a double disc DVD of the landmark Katrina benefit concert, From The Big Apple To The Big Easy: The Concert For New Orleans, which was held on September 20, 2005 at Madison Square Garden to support the long-term relief and rebuilding efforts following Hurricane Katrina. The DVD features the Neil Young classic, "Heart of Gold"
performed by Dave Matthews and Jimmy Buffett. The live concert raised approximately nine million dollars to benefit long-term hurricane relief efforts. 100% of net proceeds from the sale of this DVD will continue to and awareness for those victims. Dave Matthews Band Offsets CO2 Emissions from Touring Activities Since 1991 (06/27/2006)
Dave Matthews Band announced today that it has arranged for NativeEnergy and Clean Air-Cool Planet to offset 100% of the carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from touring activities since 1991. By offsetting the CO2 pollution that touring activities such as transporting gear, powering stages and air travel generate, Dave Matthews Band is taking a proactive role in fighting global warming and helping Native America begin to restore sustainable homeland economies in balance with the Earth.
Dave Matthews Band Issues $1.5 Million Challenge Grant (04/26/2006)
Dave Matthews Band announced yesterday that it has issued a $1.5 million challenge grant to help build the New Orleans Habitat Musicians’ Village. The Village is a Habitat for Humanity project that seeks to build more than 300 homes in the city’s Upper Ninth Ward with musicians and other New Orleanians who were displaced by Hurricane Katrina.
