Standard 5: Technology
An effective teacher must be able to effectively utilize technology to enhance student learning and professional growth and development.
Media and Technology both present unique forums through which teachers can bring a broader context to the material being learned in their classroom.
Media allows students to see examples of mathematics being used in real life, outside the classroom. Technology serves as a tool that can make the classroom much more interactive and therefore more memorable. They both stimulate interest in the material at hand, which improves student motivation and therefore improves student success.
