This arrangement of Musette is suitable for Late Elementary or Early Middle School children.

The aim of this arrangement is to teach young students how to listen to and support an instrumental soloist and to comprehend the concept of the 'concerto'.

The arrangement also stresses the importance of counting measured rests in order to make proper entrances with a soloist.

I originally arranged this piece for an ensemble that had a very talented pianist. The skill level of the string players was not at a very high level, thus I wrote the cadenza to challenge the pianist and also to provide parts for the string players who had only been playing their instruments for two years.

If a teacher is a pianist, he or she may enjoy conducting the ensemble from the piano bench or they may seek out a talented young pianist eager for his or her first experience in performing a miniature concerto.

In finality, this Bach melody is delightful and all children to whom I have introduced it to have responded to it with great enthusiasm.
